Wow. I thought this would be resolved by now. I didn't post to this thread until now because I didn't realize people didn't know. Ever since I started painting full time in 1978 Oldsmobile white stripes have been bright white (like basic truck white). Code 11 in comparison is very slightly yellow. To most people white looks white no matter what code it is. But if you compare them side by side you can see the difference. when I was painting my first 442 (my avatar pic) in 1978 I could see that the stripe was brighter than code 11 and every original paint car I've done since has been the same. So my opinion on this matter is: Stripe white is different, it's whiter. ~BOB

 

I used GM Diamond White for my stripes I wanted a little flare with mine . I did a full color change so it really didn't matter to me. From what I've gotten from this site for years is do what YOU like and makes you happy.
