Long lost wax

Thirty years ago I tried a product called COLOR BACK on my 70 GTO. When I purchased the car (used) I always thought the car was brown. But when I used this product I realized it was a golden metalic color. Fast forward 3 decades and I found the product again. I just had to use it again but this time on my 64 88. The car has been waxed before and has original old paint.
I was very surprised by the results. It removed stains, discoloration, oxidation and hid the spider cracks. It was very easy to use and left an incredible shine for a 49 year old paint job. It seems to have the power of a polishing compound w/o the hard buffing. I also used it on my original hubcaps ( I know I should not have) but it removed ground in dirt and gave a great new shine. JUST AN FYI

I did a Google search and came up with two "Color Back" products.

Perhaps navvet could tell us to which he is referring. Or maybe they're the same thing in different guises.

Jaunty75. I am speaking of the Turtle wax product. The other product I have used on kids toys, old farm equipment and old gasoline station signs. The color back product for farming equipment will beat up chrome trim!!! But I used it on my brothers plymouth volarie and it did well....the car was a pos so no loss trying it. The farming equipment color back has strong oil bi-products in it

I remember using Nu-Finsh back in the late 70's. It was magic and would bring out a shine in really oxidized paint but didn't last long.

I started using NU-Finish when I could not find Color BacK. Color Back is a much better product and last longer.

Try Blue Coral, [if it's still made] as I used it on a Limo in the 70's, and it outlasted 'Turtle Wax' 4 to 1 - we had to wash them daily - brushes back then.

I wish I could find a "pink" colored liquid wax call "Liquid Brilliance". I used to buy a case of it every year at the Atlantic City car auction. I was buying it cheap, too I thought. A case of 12 bottles for $60.00. Then the fellow vanished. I did an internet search and found it for $32.00 for 1 bottle plus shipping. I don't miss it that bad.

I use a pink liquid wax called Cherry Flash. I purchase it from a local detailer that sells it on the side. You can also find it on e-bay, good stuff and price is resonable as a little goes a long way.

A couple of my favs these days are Formula113 & Zaino

There was some pink liquid stuff that came in maroon/cranberry colored bottle from almost 30 years ago ...

I wish I could remember what it was & if it was still around ... even tho it certainly took more effort to remove vs F113 or Zaino.

Originally used it on my father's black 79 D88.

He got a ton of compliments on that car ...

Which resulted in me getting a ton of work to detail other peoples cars as a result.

We have the same product in the UK, marketed under the name of Tcut.

I agree with navvet, it's good stuff.
