info and opinion wanted

I have a 65 starfire that appears to be Burgundy or some sort of maroon. I want to paint it a deep red Burgundy, not cloudy or brownish tint. After looking at many 61-65 colors I found 3-4 similar colors and wonder if any one can tell me the difference. 61-63 used Garnet Mist and Royal Mist. 1964 Regal Mist, 1965 Burgundy Mist. I'm looking for a deep, dark red similar to Candy Apple I guest. Thanks for the input.

I can't tell you about the colors you mentioned, but I used '77 Cadillac Damson Plum Firemist on my 67 98. It was very fetching, IMO.
The picture isn't very indicative of the actual color.

If you don't care about using an original color, then simply find a car on the street that has the color you want and get the paint code off of it. You can search through books of color chips, but they never look the same as the color does on the car. Narrow it down to two or three potential choices, find a paint vendor who will sell pints, and spray test cards - or better yet, and old fender. Take it out in the sun and decide which one you like best.
