Correct trunk latch and lock retainer color?

Lady has always been white.
Of course she was repainted long ago and her trunk lid was replaced (I think) long ago, as there was no trace of the jack decals. Bumper has evidence of a minor impact.

Anyway...
Underneath that flaking brown paint is white on the bolts and latch.
Flat black is under the brown on the retainer.

A latch I bought from a member here came from a 69 Caddy and it was just plated.

So time to get it as correct as possible - what are the most correct colors?

For those with factory paint, this is an easy question!

As far as I know the latch for the lock was a flat black or parkerized finish. The latch and blots were painted while together. that has been my experience on many builds.

Any other advice?
Since the latch looks so nice as is, i think I will strip the screws and paint silver, and strip the retainer and paint flat black.
Unless someone says something is body colored.......

I always understood the latch was installed when the deck lid was painted. Would love to see an original paint car as proof.

the low mile 72 W-30 i had, the latch was mounted before it was painted originally. it had a power trunk and the connector still had a little masking tape on it from when they taped it off. i think i have a picture of it somewhere. it was original paint.
