'70 Non W-30 side stripes

I've seen quite a few '70 convertibles, but I see some with no side pinstripes, some w/a small single stripe, and some with a small double stripe. What is correct? I have a small black stripe aroun the lower edges flowing over the wheel wells and on the trunk deck following the edge under the lock mechanism.

70 442s should have a thin double paint stripe going the length of the car (one thicker than the other)- .06. top stripe .240 space .200 bottom stripe bigger gap over wheel arches .50 I think. Its in the assembly manual

yes, though you could ask for stripe delete but then there wouldn't be stripes on the hood most likely. I see a lot of 442s without the side stripes, maybe because they are not easy to reproduce or people are just lazy or understandably save money as I'm sure they are not cheap to add as there is no template for them.

Even the small thin stripe, would make that yellow car look even better.Have a guy I know, with a 71 convert, green with thin white stripe, looks good.

very nice to see another sebring yellow 442. in fact the car posted has a vin somewhat close to my car and built at the same plant.

my build sheet only shows "special paint change" so i don't know if my car had the stripes or not

the stripes on my car were done a little too wide and therefore not an accurate representation of a 70 442 paint job

Wow, very nice! I know this color is very few and far between. I see you have SSI's on yours. Have you seen the '83 Car Exchange magazine with the Sebring Yellow '70 on the cover(shot in the dark here as it't pretty old)? That's the only other picture I've seen of a '70 SY 442 non-W-30 until today. How long have you owned yours? Anything interesting you have found about this color on the 442's would be greatly appreciated.

owned since 1983. car was bought by a friend of mine in '82 on a Cadillac/Chevy used car lot.
The olds chassis manual lists sebring yellow as one of the 3 or 4 special order colors for just about any olds for 1970.

I believe it is the same color formula that chevy used in 1969 and called it daytona yellow

Here are the correct non-W30 stripes on a 70:
