67 442 Saffron best match.

Hi,
I am going to be doing a body off on a 67 442 hardtop and going to paint it the original code Y Saffron. Just looking for advise on which paint manufacturer has the best formula for Saffron. I am also thinking of using single stage urethane instead of base clear and looking for opinions on this also. Thanks Steve

I painted my '76 with PPG single stage urethane 4 years ago, the color was a dead nuts match to the original lacquer that was on the wheels. The code 50 Cream is similar to Saffron. I painted a few GM cars Saffron yellow back in the 80's with DuPont Lucite Acrylic Lacquer, don't have that option today. The straight urethane is the way to go IMO.

Thanks for the reply. I am thinking of using the PPG DCC Concept Acrylic Urethane just have to see if they got a formula for Saffron. Steve
