1950 Oldsmobile 98 dash 2-tone colors

I’ve seen a few pictures of dashes for these cars and the paint is always a 2-tone paint job. Black on top and a random color for the rest. I’m going to do my car’s interior a 2-tone gray (light gray and dark gray). To be accurate, what color should I paint my dash (with the top of the dash painted black as seen in the pictures)?

The 1950 Color and Upholstery album says the following...

"Two-Tone Instrument Panel Colors

The instrument panels on closed body models, standard and deluxe, and standard "Holiday" Coupes, will be painted in two-tone. The upper portion of Series "98" models will be painted dark gray and the lower portion silver gray. On Series "88" and "76" models the upper portion will be painted silver gray and the lower portion dark gray.

On the Series "76", "88" and "98" Convertible and Deluxe "Holiday" Coupe models the lower portion of the instrument panel will be painted silver gray; the upper portion will be available in the following color options: Chariot Red, Riverhead Green, Blue and Black. The color selection of the upper portion of the Convertible and "Holiday" Coupe instrument panels will be made by the factory to harmonize with the interior trim."

A 1950 or 1951 service manual may give the paint codes for dark gray and silver gray. The only models having a Black upper panel would have been convertibles or Deluxe Holiday coupes with the Black leather trim.
