I have in my garage a 1965 Olds Dynamic 88 convertible. Looking for any and all info on parts suppliers AND if anyone knows what parts interchange with the common Cutlass'! Like harness loom connectors, rubber bits (grommets and hood bumpers). Switches and *****.
I need:
good front bumper, all four rear tail lights and bezels, interior upholstery kit. Front grill and poss lower rear quarters and a RF fender.
Thanks,
Duane

Hi Duane - Welcome to the site.
I've got a 66 Jetstar 88 I'm working on. Not much crosses with the Cutlass that I know of. Maybe small rubber bumpers & grommets, don't know.
Fusick is the number 1 Olds restoration supplier. But I don't think they have seat covers or door panels for 88's. www.fusick.com They do have carpet & headlines.
SMS Auto Fabrics (www.smsautofabrics.com) should have the correct seat material. Then have a local upholstery shop recover the seats. The local shop maybe able to match your material a lot cheaper than SMS. SMS can custom match/make your door panels.
For bumpers & sheetmetal try this site, ebay or www.realoldspower.com. I've been looking for a right front fender for my 66 for about a year. I have seen 65 sheetmetal, but 88 (&98) parts are hard to find.
For the taillights and grill I'd watch ebay.

i too am restoring a 65 olds dynamic 88 conv. been working on mine for last two years. im down to body work now. there is not much out there for the dynamic 88's when it comes to interior, body parts, chrome etc. I just had about 5500.00 dollars in rechroming several parts that were in bad shape including both bumpers. i had to have the door panels redone they do not make new or after market ones for these cars that i could find. i dont know about the seats mine were in good shape. you can still get alot of the motor parts from your local auto parts. as far as your grill and things like that. i have seen on ebay things like the grill, tail lights and various chrome parts. you will most likely have to have them rechromed. most of the gm big body styles between 64 and 67 used the same kind of parts. some places i have found for parts are as follows: yearone.com (they deal in cutlass's, but i have found that the 65 cutlass and 65 dynamic in some cases used the same parts.) kanter.com, usapartssupply.com (they deal in oldsmobile stuff) harmons.com (same thing with yearone, deal in chevy stuff but some things are interchangeable) restationspecialties.com (these guys have every body clip, bolt, rubber you could think of for that car.) one other place i found for sometimes really hard to find parts is nos.com. ive got all these guys catalogs. there are still lots of things out there you just have to look. another good place is to pick up a hemmings motor news (hemmings.com) back in the olds section you find alot of things also. watch ebay there always something on there for these cars. chris
Hey guys!
I'm glad that I'm not the only one who's trying to find peices to keep my baby alive. I have a 65 Dynamic 88 Conv. that I purchased last summer. A weak moment with cash in my pocket, but not a single regret ,other than wishing parts where easier to come by. I keep reminding myself that anyone can order parts and build a new 57 Chevy, or Camaro, but it takes character to build something like this (or doing something like this builds character).
If it was easy, it wouldn't be special

Kanter carries kits to recover seats. I am not sure if it is ORIGINAL, but I haven't heard anything bad about their kits.

Hey Duane,
I think I've got an extra front bumper in decent shape. I do need a rear bumper badly. You've probably noticed that the 65 and 66 Dynamic are rare girls. Where are you located? I also have a spare complete dash, LH manifold, misc. trim and badges.
