Just about done putting the rebuilt 330 back into the 65 F85, plus the 2 speed Jetaway tranny. I thought I bagged and labeled all my parts but missed this one.

Any ideas what this part would be?

It's about 4 inches long. It was all gunked up before I put it on the bench grinder so I am guessing it was underneath, or near oil.

 

Some kind of spring clip, but I dont have a clue. I think your gonna lose 10pts. in the best of show catergory. Frustrating isn't it?

 

It looks like the burner retainer clip on a gas grill.

 

I have the same part that was left off my trans! Some 25 years ago.
