Good luck with this. I suspect you will find that there isn't enough interest to make it financially worthwhile. I've been looking into this. I want to keep the 4 x 4.5 bolt circle. The Ford 8" axle used in the Maverick has about the right width and the right bolt pattern. The other one I've been looking at is the 7.5 out of a 2WD S-10, which is also about the right width, but has the 5 x 4.75 bolt pattern. Both of these are leaf sprung, so welded on brackets are required. The sheet metal center section of the8" makes welding the upper control arm mounts easy. The S-10 axle has a cast center section. I haven't been able to determine if it's cast iron or cast steel, as the latter can also be welded easily.
