Speaker kick panels for '70 Cutlass w/o AC

Looking for Kick panels to fit my '70 Cutlass Supreme. I bought a Custom Auto Sound radio and now I need better speakers. Custom Auto Sound has kick panels but not for my model. My kick panels have the two ***** on each side for opening vents, etc. Custom Auto Sound doesn't make a kick panel to accomodate the pull out *****. Does anyone know of a company who does? Can the Custom Auto Sound be modified to work with my two pull *****? Thanks.

It looks like Year One has kick panels for non ac cars with Pioneer speakers. I'm currently installing kick panels in my car with ac. I purchased my panels without speakers from Ames. It looks like emergency brake modifications will be needed to clear my Polk speakers.

How did you go? Just doing the same thing now with an a/cond 72 vert.
I got the kick panels on eBay. Hope my speakers fit OK.
Did you fit an aftermarket head unit or are you running the original radio / 8-track through the kick panel speakers? I'm leaving the original gear in place and hiding the new head unit in the golve box but I could use some tips about setting it up in there properly.
Cheers..Col

I started out having my stock am radio converted to am/fm with an Ipod connection hooked up to a pair of upgraded stereo speakers in the stock dash location. As time went by, I realized that I would never get the sound out of this system that I was looking for even with adding an amp and extra speakers. I ended up using 6-1/2" Polk speakers inside my aftermarket kickpanels. On the passenger side, the speaker seem to fit without hitting the metal frame. The driver side needed to be shimmed out appox. 1/4" with the provided shim ring that was included with the speakers. I also used the foam speaker enclosures behind the speakers that I purchased seperately which should help push the sound outward, stop the speaker from rattling against the frame of the car as well as help with the acoustics. I did have to modify the parking brake pedal by shortening the pedal approx. 1" to clear the speaker grill. I also purchased a reproduction 8 track housing from forum member Randy to house my Kenwood head unit that has RCA connections for 4 channels plus a subwoofer and an I-pod connection. I am extremely happy with this housing that looks identical to the original complete with woodgrain and original pad. I have ran all my wires from the head unit to the trunk area so I can continue installing my interior. My plans are to install a subwoofer enclosure in the trunk with an amp mounted to it along with the front kick panel speakers and a set of removable bookself speakers enclosures (Polk Atriums) on the rear seat that can be removed if wanted for shows ect. I did not want to hack any holes in the doors or ash well areas since I just got done replacing/reparing these area's from the previous owner. I also have put away the original am/fm and 8 track housing.

Please let me know where you acquired the foam speaker enclosures. I've been looking for something like this for years to help with the accoustics. Thanks
