Quick Question about Fuel Pump to Carb Line

I'm fairly certain I know the answer to this question, but I figured I would verify.

My old fuel pump was leaking oil out of the vent hole so I ordered a new one. I put it in and discovered that the outlet is smaller than the original.

I was thinking about putting on a smaller connector but then realized that possibly the size of the line is related to the diameter of the threads.

So, my question is: Can I have two different sized connectors (larger sized on carb and smaller on fuel pump) and use the same line, (which I could fix today and get back on the road) or take the pump back and see if they can get one with the correct outlet (have to wait till next week).

If the fitting on the pump is the wrong size then it's the wrong pump.
What is the part number and brand of the pump you got? And what is the application?

Yea, I guess it will go back. It's for my '66 Delta with a 425, no A/C.

I have a '74 98 in the back but the pump has three fittings on it, I'm guessing it is a return line?

Yes, the 3rd would be the return.
