Can anyone confirm with certainty that this is an original OEM a/c drier ? I removed recently removed it from our “one family owner” ‘69 442. If it’s the original, i’ll have it rebuilt.

If not, i’ll be a new one.

 

Please wait for someone that knows for certain, I don't. That does not look original to me, judging by the labels only it looks aftermarket.

Is there that much of a difference between an original and a replacement unit? The only thing I had to do with the replacement I bought for my '69 4-4-2 was paint it a semi-flat black color. It looked just like the original to me and fit exactly the same.

The reason that it looked the same as the original, may be because it is the same as original.
GM contracted a lot of these kind of parts out to smaller companies.
They sold them to GM for production, and later sold the same part aftermarket.
