Hello all. I've owned many muscle cars in my youth and have restored a few but never an Oldsmobile. I'm picking up a 77 Cutlass S and the hood cable is broken. Any advice on opening the hood with the cable broken. I look forward to bringing this one back to life and learning a few things from you along the way. Thank you all in advance.

I can only imagine you're the only/single most person in Czechia (Czech Republic) with an Oldsmobile.

Welcome to the site! I've not had a car of your vintage with the hood release cable broken. But I have dealt with a 1971 hood lock cable that broke. I think you'll need to dismantle the parts under the bumper so you can reach up behind the grills to access the latch itself.

Seems to be quite an issue ...

Here is a thread dedicated to the same problem with suggestions made, but unfortunately as is often the case on forums. The original poster did not post a follow up as to how or whether or not it was resolved. https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...d-help-155062/
