Heater core seal - where to get a new one?

So the rubber(?) seal that fits around the pipes on my heater core is only about 10% there. I've not been able to find a source for a replacement. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

You can make one out of high density foam. I think I've seen them in the OPGI, Yearone, Ecklers, type catalogs.

Was it a dense type of foam?

I had actually started to make my own out of the pipe insulation foam also used as "noodles" for kids swimming, but wasn't sure how much heat that foam should be subjected to.

Mine was super dense ESD protection foam. I was unsure myself how well it would hold up, but I think it is okay. The original stuff looked much like what I used.
Now the stuff for pipe insulation might work, as it would have to hold up to hot water pipes, too.
