Few questions about my car

So first, the coil has a capacitor on top of it that's not hooked up. Is it needed and if so what does it hook to?
2nd I'm trying to figure out the right pieces for the breather to air cleaner.
3rd what goes here in the ac box? Pics below.

The last one would be an ambient temp. switch, which keeps the A/C compressor from engaging below 30 degrees. The green wire to the A/C compressor coil runs through it. Assumes the compressor isn't directly connected & this was bypassed. You're better off safety wise, running a steel line from the fuel pump to the carburetor. I definitely don't recommend plastic fuel filters in the engine compartment.

The capacitor on the coil is for radio noise suppression and is connected to the positive side of the coil. If you aren't running points and/or don't listen to AM radio, it's not required. They are still available for replacement the rating is 3mf.

The round hole visible in side of your aircleaner pan is where the breather's fresh air tube connects. Needs a rubber grommet which is available thru the repro parts suppliers or sometimes you can find them at your parts store.

Try rotating the pan so the snout points to the driver side and see if that round hole lines up better with the breather air tube.

*edit* Looks like the breather is in passenger side valve cover. Is the PCV valve in the driver side? You may need to reverse those to get everything to line up correctly.

yes pcv is driver side. I may leave it alone as long as it won't hurt the engine.

You might want to consider getting rid of the plastic fuel filter and rubber fuel line on top of the engine.

X3 on getting rid of the plastic fuel and the rubber hose, it is a fire hazard that I've seen go bad. Put steel tubing with flared tubing nuts on the pressure side of the fuel pump just like the factory. Rubber hose and an inline filter are fine on the suction side of the pump.

Good luck!!!
