It looks like the cruise control servo.

That is a cruise control actuator. You are unlikely to find a new one.

Cruise control actuator

Thank you. As long as it doesn't effect the engine performance from the perspective of a vacuum leak then I can live without it. Thanks again.

If you tried to use the cruise control it would be a massive vacuum leak. Plug the hose that goes to that actuator to be safe, but otherwise it won't have any effect on the engine.

IF you ever find one new, which is doubtful, the GM part number would be 551095 superseded to 12309832.

Good luck with that. It would be kind of simple for one of these restoration places to mold a new boot and diaphragm and devise a method for swapping it out, but you'd have to couple that with return on investment and demand, which likely isn't very good. IMO, unless absolute originality is paramount, I'd get a good aftermarket electronic unit to adapt to your car if you really desired cruise control. It sucks, but it all comes down to how much do you want to spend in time and money to do it the way GM did?

Yes thank you for that information. I agree, it would be a costly endeavor. Since there is no urgency, I will wait to see if I can find one from a salvage yard from a dryer climate state. Appreciate your reply.
