Working with my son on his classic Cutlass. I just discovered that the throttle mechanism mounts on the outside firewall after spending an inordinate amount of time trying to find a bracket under the dash on the inside. Yep, he didn't take a picture before removing it.
In any case, I need to know what the electric gizmo is that is attached to the throttle mechanism (see attached). One pole is marked BAT (battery) and the dual plug that covers the other two poles are marked 1 and 2. What does this device (also called gizmo) do, will it work on a GM 350 engine and where does the 1 and 2 poles attach? I've got a suspicion 1 and 2 may attach to the auto choke on the Edelbrock carb but have nothing to base this notion on.

A 67 had an ST300 (Jetaway) 2 speed transmission with a dual vane switch pitch torque converter. The bat terminal is the 12v supply to the round switch assy (gizmo), 1 wire was for the kickdown switch signal and the other operated the torque converter angle for the stall speeds. You can use the linkage to operate the carb, but the switch is n/a for the T350 transmission because the kickdown is cable operated and has nothing to do with choke operation.
