Throttle not opening all the way

71 C/S conv. 350 with a performer and a Holley. I took the Holley off to replace the distributor and clean it up. Reinstalled it all and was checking the throttle position when I found out that, with the peddle all the way to the floor, the throttle does not open but half way. The rep at Holley asked if it was a 2 barrel car. I have no idea. He said that 2 barrel cars have a shorter throttle linkage. Anybody have a fix for this?

Could be binding linkage. Remove the linkage and see if it still sticks.

My buddy held the throttle open and I pulled the cable on the peddle in and out with no problem. It's like the throw on the peddle isn't long enough.

The cable could be in the wrong hole in the carb...too far up the arm and the throw is too short... move it down towards the pivot point for more movement...

X2. That's exactly the problem. Leverage 101. Also, the Holley Tech Help"less" guy is an idiot.
