LS motor swap advice
I've been thinking of an OD trans or rear end gear change for my modified 1979 Hurst/Olds until... another possibility just presented itself. I might have access to an LS2 6.0 motor and auto transmission out of a 2006 GTO with 68K miles. The car was in an accident and hit from behind so there's no damage to the front of the car at all. I can get the motor/trans/harness/computer/pedal/all accessories/ complete for $4800.
Is this a good price?
Is the LS motor from the GTO better than that of, say a Corvette?
Or does it matter?
Will there be enough space for the accessories as is or will I have to make major changes?
I know I'll have to change the oil pan and other things, but is this more hassle than it's worth?
An all aluminum LS2 will definitely take some weight off my front end even though my 455 has Edelbrock heads.
Any thoughts or opinions?

$4800 might be a little high, but mileage is low and the 6.0s are in high deman.
Same motor as a corvette, only accessory drive is different.
Plenty of G body swaps over at LS1tech, you should be able to see if stock accessory mounts will work. If not, Holley makes very nice, reasonably priced mounts. Guessing the AC compressor might have to be moved up.
I love my LS swap, great as a daily driver. Definitely worth it for me.
