One thing I have read countless times, is bad fitment issues with the BRP mounts. I went with UMI mounts and they were perfect.

No stripes on this one just 2012 camaro blue (I copied my daily driver)

I didn’t know what I was buying when I got the motor just wanted an LS and end up with this and had to cram a lot of info in these last few months. So far so good on the mounts. I do have a problem with the driver side header. It’s gonna need massaging on the front cross member

Currently need to get driveshaft and transmission tunnel done for 6 speed install

Anyone have a recommendation for a welder in Dallas that can weld my transmission tunnel area. Will need some fabrication done on sides.

Slip joint driveshaft installed. Anyone weld and fabricate in Dallas,TX?

Sonnax 3 bolt flange with slip joint driveshaft

I recently got an impact and need to learn the proper uses for it. Do’s and don’t’s. I’ll learn eventually. Removed this from rear end, drilled out the rest of the bolt, replaced all bolts afterwards.

Too bad your not closer to Ohio. I could weld that up in a afternoon, torches and rod or coat hanger.

Your wise to maintain a adequate airflow space around the transmission as even with good insulation on the interior side of the floor things are gonna get hot in the Texas heat, especially in traffic when air flow through the engine compartment is minimal excepting what the fan can move.

Did you maintain the same ground clearance for bottom of oil pan and trans pan, same as original? I realize the physical size of the new power is larger all the way around but it seems located high in the chassis from what little we can see.

Good luck ~

Had a 4L60e in here prior to this one

It used the same trans crossmember. Trans sits higher in car than before.I sure hope i can find a welding buddy locally and inexpensive soon. Wanna ride this summer

Thinking about it I have used a ±1957 Buick Dynaflow mount in place of the T-400 style mount with TH-400 and four speed transmissions, since you use the same cross member perhaps this can work and help. DF mount is a little more then a inch less mounted height. Will require some hole elongation etc to bolt to trans and CM. Never broke one, even with side stepping the clutch. Good luck.

Thanks for the tips

This created the biggest hole in the floor pan. I felt like I would never stop cutting more of it out. I cut a little too much out if you asked me. I used to do 140 in my 12’ Maro with this transmission so I’m looking to do that at the least with my 6.2/6L80e combo

once I rebuilt my rear end, 3.42 posi 10 bolt and my 6L80e, the drive shaft began to slip out of transmission seal and off the car output shaft. I had another driveshaft made, then noticed it was too short. Well actually it wasn’t. The output shaft on a 6L80e car transmission has a pin on the end of the shaft. I got a 2wd output shaft and my next project is to remove the 6L80e and have my transmission guy swap out the output shafts so the TH400 yolk will engage onto the 2wd output shaft more than the car output shaft allows. I’ll be driving again in no time. YT & IG cutoversoldspartsguys

6L80e car output shaft to truck output shaft completed

Once I got the transmission output shaft replaced with the correct truck output shaft, the th400 yoke fit perfectly. Unfortunately the driveshaft length was off. I remeasured to 54” and the Driveshaft of Mesquite swapped it for another new one. Car rides and drives fast like I wanted. Upgraded brakes in my future would nice. I’d have to sell these 1 yr only 15” bolt ons to fund new rims and tires and also a larger brake kit. Til then I’ll be on the move. On YouTube and IG cutoversoldspartsguys
