1951 olds 98

I have a 51 olds 98, looking to put a ls style motor in it. I looking for something I can drive on a regular basis and go to a local parts store to find parts to repair if I had too. Also looking at a 4l80 or 6l80 trans. Has any body done this and any body mods ? Motor mounts ?

You might try the H.A.M.B. They will probably be more informative at that site https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...ral-discussion....... Tedd

You will need a new front end under that car if you put an LS in it. There is a guy in California on here that redid a 51 98 convertible and I believe he put an LS in it. He is over on the TriFive forum but has a different user name on this site. You are talking lots of work and lots of $$$$$$$. Be ready to get your checkbook out.

You must not be familiar with the suspension on one of these cars. They don't even have ball joints or tube type shocks on them. They have king pins and bushings and knee action shocks. It is a very antiqued suspension and not suitable for any kind of performance car. There is nothing you can do to improve it other than replace it.
