Emblems/Decals 1973 Ninety Eight

Pardon me if I'm incorehent and hard to understand, English is my third language and I'm currenty full of rage, today I discovered someone stole both "98" (words) roof emblems und both Ninety Eight (letters) side panel emblems.

My question: Are the "Ninety" and the "Eight" seperate items? Seems to look that way. And are the ones in the sides the same as the one on the trunk lid? The ones from the 98 Regency are a different color or can I take those?
Feel free to correct me if the parts have a different names, anything that makes it easier for me to find them.

Thx in advance, God help me.

NO WAY!

Sorry somebody vandalized your Olds.

I believe the fender and trunk Ninety Eight are the same. They are also separate pieces.

Thx for the reply. Blowing off steams helps. I'm telling everybody about it, whether they care or not.
Do you know if the 98 and 98 Regency are the same? I could get my hands on them.

I'm pretty sure these are available, but I am not clear on which ones you are referring to. If you take photos of were they are placed, I'll know better which ones you are referring to.

He's talking about the "Ninety Eight" script that appears on the lower right edge of the trunk lid and low down on the rear fenders on each side. They're the same script in both locations, and they are two pieces. I doubt these are made new, so any replacements will likely have to come from a parts car.

I think he also mentioned the ones on the roof sail panels also. I can move this to the parts wanted section as someone on here may be able to provide them.

You can see that in the second photo above directly above the rear door handle. Again, those will have to come from a parts car.

I believe eBay has some, search under emblems. If there is one they don't offer, just search it occasionally. Many of those show up from time to time. Sorry about your car - it looks to be in beautiful condition. Good luck!

Yep, those all you guys mentioned are the ones I need. I found some on ebay that say for 98 Regency, I have a regular 98. Should be the same ones, right?

For example this one here looks perfect, but it says Regency

And by the way, I am sorry to here some imbecile messed with your car. A few years ago, some tree hugging jack *** im guessing kicked a nice dent in the passenger door of my 73 Caddy. I don't know what satisfaction you would get out of this behavior. Had I caught the dunce IT would have been hospitalized.

That is the correct trunk/fender script. The title of the sale only says Regency because the seller doesn't know what that means. 98s in later years had C pillar script that said "Regency."

BTW, Bigdooly that's a bummer that some idiot vandalized your Cadillac. Do you have an after pic? Hopefully it wasn't too difficult to get fixed.

Not fixed yet, I plan on painting it when I retire.
I have to take more pictures of it when I get it outside, she's sleeping now.
Here are the emblems I have off the 98, well I thought I had 2, can only find one.

Are any of you guys on ebay?
I got those roof emblems if they evev arrive, sitll need the fender/trunk ones. One guy on ebay sells two of them (2 times Ninety, 2 times Eight), but he is incapable of changing the shipping details (it excludes the whole world). It's quite expensive (about 150$ altogether, but they look good and I would not have divide the order between 3 or 4 sellers.
Would be great if someone could send it over to Europe. Don't care if you want to make a little extra on top as long as it's reasonable.

He is unable to change the shipping details is ridiculous. It is quite simple actually, I sell on Ebay.
Be patient. I have a car lined up sitting under 2 feet of snow currently. When conditions permit i'll go buy it, and post photos.

I've been writing with the guy for a month now, under excluded it lists everything. Perhaps he does not want to ship to Europe, no idea.
I'll share it here, can't do anything with it anyways. Looks quite pristine and sadly I lack patience

You and me both. All he has to do is log onto his account, and on the ad, he will have the option of ebay global shipping.
you mail the item to Kentucky, ebay global shipping headquarters and ebay sends it out from there. Ebay will bill for additional shipping cost, and both buyer and seller are protected, if the item gets lost or damaged. I have sent parts to Europe, Asia, South America, Australia. Canada. It is easier to do it through Ebay in my opinion.
Those are nice looking pieces, N.O.S. and they are not terribly priced based on the fact that they are new old stock.

The guy has been on ebay for 22 years, I'm sure if he really wanted to he could, but that's not happening for me, I gave up, I started writing him on January 8th, he even reuploaded the item once and sent me a direct offer which I accepted (that's why it says 1 sold 2 available; he still has three. 2004monika is my wife's account). After that I could net pay/check out because of the exluced countries. Ebay said he should be able to fix it but he did not, no reply in a almost a week. Thanks for your advice, but thinking about him drives me nuts. I wasted a month, could have just as easily but from a couple of others in the meantime.
My offer stands, if you want to sell it to me for say 50 $ extra that would be ok, I'd buy it guaranteed. You can check my ebay profile, all 29 reviews since 2004 positive.

Ninety eight

I messaged him yesterday. He has not yet responded. I am trying to get him to at least combine the shipping, meaning put everything in one box, I have the items in my "cart" , and shipping is billed twice, meaning they will ship individually. I want him to at least put everything in one box and ship. If I do this, your gonna end up paying shipping 3 times as it is, as the seller is on the opposite side of the U.S. Then I gotta mail them to Ebay global shipping. I won't send them directly to you, because if something happens to them, we'll be screwed. As I explained earlier once ebay has the items, they are responsible.

Appreciate your efforts. Beggars can't be choosers I guess. Getting them in decent condition from one source in a timely fashion is still my best option.

Emblems

I just purchased emblems. I don't know what my final cost is yet, the seller is having trouble adjusting the shipping. I can't understand this, as I have done this countless times. He claims he will refund me the difference, again, this makes no sense, but, its only $10, so let's see.

UPDATE
The side rear fender NINETY and EIGHT decals don't seem to fit, the wholes are farther apart than the pins on the decals.
The parts I got are

#9858552 and #9858553.

Is there such a thing as a complete OEM list?

Just now found this one
https://www.oldsobsolete.com/product...e-nos-9858555/

That number is 9858555

Unless some previous owener put some wrong decals on the car, drilled new holes and covered up the old ones or something like that I have no idea what to do.
I was told that drunk lid and side emblems SHOULD be the same. What about left side and right side? They differ?
I have three of each and none fit on the sides, I can't possibly be that unlucky.

Emblems.

I had a couple of 71 Ninety-Eights I parted out.
never a 73. The cars are both gone, I have nothing to use as a reference. I am more familiar with Delta 88's I wish I could be of more help. Sorry.

No problem, you've helped enough so far.
What about those OEM part numbers? Any reliable databases out there or any way to check if it should fit before I get my hands on it?

Anybody else?

That's a bummer the holes and studs were in different locations. Necessity being the mother of invention, I would consider using a Dremel to remove the studs on the emblems you got and then using glue to adhere them to your car. At least, that might be an option if you can't find another set that fits.
