Thanks, im really stoked to have it. It has the 455 rocket and only 24k on the dash! i cant figure out is the radio situation..theres no speakers in the back and idont see em in the front..but theres a radio? it lights up just obviously no sound. i did see some small loose wires in the trunk space i might see if theres audio from there...? i was also wondering if theres is any easy mods to do on these to crank out more power. i dont wanna do anything i cant reverse same with audio. nothing to invasive...any ideas out there would be great. sure is a nice cruiser, would love to have some tunes. Thanks again

Yes i replaced the back interior courtesy lights with leds. they were burnt out and had a hard time finding replacements locally. i was kind of bothered by the difference in the color tones...thinkin maybe i should just do all led in interior... or go back to original filament style.

Seems to me the speakers may be missing . They mount to the underside of the package shelf below the rear window . Probably where the loose wires are .:
Make sure you get 10 OHM speakers . These original Delco radios were required to use 10 OHM speakers only . Anything else will burn out the amplifier .

More power ? A good tune-up maybe . These beasts had 365 HP right out of the box ! (at only 4600 RPM )
You have to remember , this car is HEAVY . Over two tons . It would take a tremendous amount of horsepower to make it fast .
You may be better off to enjoy it for what it is , a cruiser .

I am most likely the biggest fan of the 69 Olds 98. Your car has the base am radio so there are no rear speakers. Just one speaker in the center of the dash which may be blown out as most are. If you can find one, install a factory AM/FM Stereo and install a set of speakers in the rear. If you look in the trunk, you will see where the factory rear seat speaker option would go. Your car is the base Town Sedan which is a rare find today. It is also why it has crank windows and not alot of options, unusual for a 98. Here is a photo of my 69 98 Luxury Sedan. These came loaded with everything and are also almost impossible to find anymore. The Luxury Sedan's interior was very different then the Town Sedan's interior. Just as much luxury as a Cadillac or Lincoln. The LS interior had features not even offered on the Cadillac. Most big 98s of this era were scrapped long ago while their engines were pulled by Cutlass fans.

Thanks for the reply! That 98 you have is a gem. woww. where do you get the weather stripping for that at? And I was wondering if anyone knew where to get a replacement headlight switch. the one that is a turnable **** thing that you pull in and out. and can dim the dashlights and what not... or maybe someone could shed some light on rebuilding/fixing my current one. the dash lights dont light up at the moment but the other features seem to be working fine.

Both of these 98's are nice cars. You cruise in these thing at 85 to 90 mph and you feel nothing. Try the fuse on the dash lights. Often times your brake lights are on the same fuse. I am glad to see these saved.

You are welcome and thank you too. Can you post more photos of your 98? We would like to see some interior photos.
