Trying to figure out how to remove the digital clock from my 1979 Ninety-Eight Regency for repairs. So far haven't been able to find a You Tube video and/or instructions to do so.
You have to remove the RH trim panel that surrounds the radio, HVAC control head, and whatever other accessories are mounted on that side of the dash.
Remove radio ***** and lighter.
Remove two screws that are under the "shelf" between radio and HVAC control.
You should then be able to pull the trim panel rearward and remove it. It might not come out readily if it's never been out. Use the radio, HVAC and warning lights openings to get a finger hold while you pull.
Once the trim panel is out of the way you should be able to get at the clock mounting screws. Pull the clock rearward to access the electrical connections and it should come out.
Reverse everything to reinstall, paying attention to whether any grounding straps have to go under screw heads.
Then you get the fun of finding someone to service your digital rollover clock.
If you don't own one, by all means acquire a 1979 Oldsmobile factory Chassis Service Manual. A beat-up, used ORIGINAL PRINT COPY like this one is ideal. Reprints and digital copies tend to lose critical detail.
