Nice to see your work. Did you have any trouble getting the power antenna hole in the correct location?

Thanks for the inquiry. I have two 1968 parts cars (owned over 40 years). One had rear antenna and the other
the wonderbar radio. With careful measurements able to get the hole dead on.

Hey Looks great! What kind of tool did you use to cut the hole? I have been considering doing this on my
68 98 Town Sedan.

Step bits - interesting...how big is the hole? Also I have a donor car that has a power antenna and I'm trying to figure out whats going on: the antenna works but only
retracts down to about six inches. Is that normal? Looks factory to me - also what type of tool removes the big chrome fitting with two holes in it?
Best,

The hole is 3/4 inch. Antenna only goes down partly with 6 inches still out. My attachment was rotten and the top part with the two small depressions was seized.
A small punch may work to free it up. Mine is now on the car and working. Need to see if the Wonderbar radio will work. Pics will follow.

On a '68 Cutlass the antenna does not retract all the way down. Six inches is still up and that is normal.

The power antenna does not fully retract...leaving about 6 inches protruding when fully lowered. Both of my 68s have their original antennas and work this way. The chrome retainer (with the 2 holes) is available if you need it. Fusick sells it I believe. You have a great looking Holiday Coupe! Looking forward to seeing more pics.
Hope this helps, Dave

Great looking cars Dave! I wonder why the antenna's don't fully retract? I'll probably install mine anyway - I have a wonderbar radio (needs repair/
Anyone know who fixes them?
