New Guy '58 Super 88

Hey all, I've been a member of this site for a while now but I never had to post a message because a quick search of the forum usually answers whatever question I have. As I said in the title I have a 1958 Super 88 my father in law gave me, this will be the fourth car I've restored but the first Oldsmobile and I learned early on that Oldsmobiles are a totally different animal than any other car I've worked on. I'm kind of enjoying the experience.

Welcome to CO (even though you have been here since June)!

A '58 eh? You are restoring it to what level? The chrome shops are going to love you!

Welcome, it's no different than restoring any other somewhat obscure car. Post some pic's for us.

It's going to be a driver, maybe not a daily driver but something I wont mind getting a little dirty. I like to drive them as I restore them.

Another 58 new guy

Just saw "new guy '58 Super 88 note...ironically, I'm same category. Mine's a ragtop that started life as a Dynamic but someone before me added Super Chrome so it's a "neither" really. Question for those that know....my wipers were converted to electric. One port of vaccum pump is in use, the other blocked off. Would that blocked-off port likely have gone directly to vacuum wiper motor or ????

thanks
