My names Regan, I'am from New Zealand. I brought my olds in from the states about 5 years a go from Bakersfield California. My Olds is a 1961 Dynamic 88 4 door pillaress running the 394.
I only know of one other olds of the same year and shape in NZ and thats a 2 door, so I think its rare for here?
I was looking at upgrading the distrubor but have not had any luck finding a replacement anywhere.
I have re-done the seats and carpet, breakes, exhaust system, front/rear shocks, and the crab which is the stock 2 barrel which I was going to change to a 4 barrel.
If anyone out there can help with parts and advice please let me know.
Welcome to the site! I know there's at least one other member from NZ here. I'm not real familiar with your vintage of car, but hope someone who is posts soon with the information you need. If a couple days go by and nobody does, feel free to create another post on this thread to bring it back to the top again. Or create a post under your cars section. John
Your car looks like a real head turner, and I like the color combo / wheel choice. It has a subdued but muscle =y look. If the chicks down there don't dig it, they're nuts. If it's the only one down there, you bet your socks it's rare.
About the crabs, I mean distributor. You want to keep the original look but have better reilabilty and performance? No more replacing points and adjusting dwell? Consider Pertronix. They use the stock dist but bypass the need for points and condensor. Have a look: http://www.ase-supply.com/category_s/264.htm
Cheers Mate! What's your beer of choice down there? Fosters by any chance? They make the best funny commercials...
BTW, more pics please
Thanks for the info Allan R, yes I do get alot of looks when shes was running, the best comment that I have recevied is "what a sweet *** end on that olds". As for the colour my mates give me **** and say its salmon pink, when I got the car the sides and bonnet were in primer, I started playing around with it and next thing I had removed all the primer, it was good to do as I got to know where all the body faults were and find out that there is no rust. thanks for the link will look into it, Beer Tui or Heineken not that Aussie muck HAHA. Will Ad pics soon.
