Welcome to our site! Very nice Cutlass..... except for the dirt on the rear quarter, lol. And I have to ask a girl question.... why is your engine green instead of Olds Gold?? I'm sure there's a reason, I just don't know it! I love the 72.......

Welcome.
You could not only see leaks you could see the engine in the pitch dark with it painted that color.
the Dayglo corporation is headquartered just down the road from me in Cleveland.
I think the "dirt" on the quarter was caused by doing what the letters on a stop sign stand for Sandy, "Spin-Tires-On-Pavement".

Now it has a 10.5:1 455 with mondello bump stick, mile head work, scorpion roller rockets, demon 825 race carb and a nos plate system with 200 jets. Turbo 400 tranny manual valve body and 3500 stall . 12 bolt with 3:73's,c clip elims, tubular lower control arms and adjustable uppers. Sumped tank with an aeromotive pump. That is the bulk of what is done to the car .

Welcome to the site. Time are required on and off the dope when you post a pic of car with rubber all over the 1/4's
Out of curiosity why the 12bolt. The 8.5 10bolt the car came with had bolt in axles all ready and is stong as a 12 bolt.

Also as I remember,71 blacked out grills......Should have a set of hooker headers on it also....The front fenders have patch panels off one of my rust free wrecked parts cars,As you can see in the pictures he ran a modified ram air thru the high beams....As for using that 12 bolt it was under a Gbody he sold to purchase this car back in the day,Ready to go so that was a easy decision to bolt in and go..I have many hours in on and under that car......My bud is almost back on his feet and in the market for a new car,Cant wait to have a buddy who is as die hard as me on Oldsmobiles back in the "Game" so to speak......
Having problems finding pics but will post up more if you want.....Might have to scan some(yeah its been that long ago.....)

Nice to know some history. I don't have any times since I have yet to drive it other than around the block. I have owned it since March and have had to fix a lot of things on the car. BigJerr tell your buddy I will sell him his car back if he wants it.

Hey Rob,
I'm BigJerrs buddy, and I was the previous owners of your 72 that I sold to a young kid (Ben Thiede). I am the one responsible for all the hardcore parts installed on that car, including the:
12 bolt rear with 3.73 gears and Eaton posi and Moser C-clip eliminators
3.5" custom built drive shaft
Sump rear tank and fuel system
3" exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers
SSM solid lower control arms, stock uppers, Moroso rear drag springs w/air bag in passenger rear, Competition Engineering drag shocks set at 90/10 in the front and stock Monroe gas shocks in the rear, and Adjustable uppers and Lakewood no Hop Bars.
It has a Jim Peterson built TH400 (Mopar Stock Racer) tranny
Hooker 1-7/8" SuperComp headers.
Crane HI-6 ignition box, and PS91 coil, Taylor 8mm plug wires.
B&M Prostick shifter
Sport Comp gauges and Old school Monster Tach
Fuel Pump
etc
etc
etc.
The body work is a first time attempt from 3 beginners, and its all BigJerrs fault!
I am interested in buying it back, but I need to know where it located and your price with and without engine and converter.

Just an FYI....I know its not a show car, but it commanded plenty of attentions when I had it due the the kick *** roller cammed 455 I had in it, and I also bought this thing for $500 and completely built this thing from scratch on a broken shoe string budget and a first time attempt at body work and paint.
It still ran 11's at 4000 lbs totally street legal, licensed and insured!

Ran 11.70's -11.80's @ 112-113 with a crap converter slipping at 18%
Should have been 11.60's with a normal 5-6% slippage on the converter.
Still had more in it, but it ran so consistent that I was not that interested in max ET as much as I wanted another trophy and cash!
Check out my racing junk page or cardomain page for the specifics when I was running it.
