im getting a 69 olds 442 in a couple weeks, just gotta wait till the owner gets home so i can go pick her up. he started to restore it but never got around to finishing it. he has all the original parts that he removed from her, she got a 350 rocket, auto. im going to rebuild the motor during the restore too since she hasnt been running in about 15 years supposedly. im completely new to these style cars so i got lots to learn about em yet. i was always a lifted truck person till i came across this car. as you can tell by the pics, the passengers quarter panel could use some work. i was wondering if theres any places to by just the lower section of the quarters or a half-quarter panel, instead of replacing the whole thing for just a couple small spots. if not its no big deal i can make up some pieces but if i can buy em i might as well.

1 thing i could figure out from the pics is if the hood is stock or not.. ive looked at alot of 442's on google and never seen one yet with hood scoops like this one has.. do it look like something custom or a aftermarket hood or?

1 thing i could figure out from the pics is if the hood is stock or not.. ive looked at alot of 442's on google and never seen one yet with hood scoops like this one has.. do it look like something custom or a aftermarket hood or?

another question, can anyone tell me where this is? i was almost thinking around where the back window seals, but i cant really see it being there after sizing it up some more.

Welcome to the site! It looks like a big project, but if you enjoy doing body work and turning wrenches it will be a satisfying project. Yes, I think that bottom picture is the ledge around the rear windshield, probably the passengerside between the roof and trunk. I've got a 1968 with rust just like that 
You mentioned it had a 350 engine. The factory engine in 1969 would have been a 400, so that may have been swapped out. The vin number on the dash should start with 34487 if its a real 442 and not just a Cutlass with the 442 parts added. If its not the original engine and you want a little more power its easy to swap in a 455.
Let us know what you find when you get it home. There's lots of 1969 owners here so if you need help figuring out what goes where just post a thread with the question and pictures if possible. John

Biggest part i'm not looking forward to is putting the dash back in and hooking it all up. thats about the only thing i never done with a vehicle, and really dont want to do. ill try to get some wiring diagrams off the internet somewhere
Well that may be a blessing. The car is a good project but projects such as these are plentiful. My opinion is look for something more solid with correct drivetrain. The bigger the workload the more time and expense it is and the project is more likely to go stale. Good Luck either way!
