new and forgetfull

Hi I am Glen from michigan,I took my 56 apart about 6-7 years ago and forgot a few things, like what goes on the two holes rearward of the heads ? I know they are coolant related but i cannot find anything in the original shop manual.Any one have a picture? I just got it back from the engine shop and had a complete rebuild done with a bit of extras like balanceing and cam grind, diamond forged 80 over pistons.Had the block powdercoated irridescent blue and chrome coated the tripower intake. Thanks in advance golds56.oh i have a 56 olds two door post with a 324 v8 and jetaway trans, the body is in primer and getting ready for twotone .

Hi - I have a lot of disassembly photos of my '55 324 - if you send along a couple of pics of the areas you're questioning I can try to find a corresponding photo to see what goes there - no promises but I'll see what I can dig up!

On my 57 371 on the passenger side rear of the head is the water outlet for the heater, on the drivers side is where the water temp switch goes. i would think that yours would be the same...

See house routing in photo (red lines) - goes to heater control valve

Pretty sure you can buy the temp sending unit, but the plate it mounts to likely no - I'm sure you could come up with one if you needed it - anyone with a spare engine would have it

a 57 olds 88 a guy that worked for me ,his brother actually inherited his familys home .He found it in the barn and remembered his dad putting it on the shelf 30 years or so ago ,he knew what it was because he is a tri-power nut and had five of them looking like new in his kitchen, yes he was single, and yes the were for 442s.Greg at gregs cylinder heads in riverview had to do a bit of work on them and add a depression in the valley pan .I sent them out through mayfair racing and had them chrome coated.

lots done now

I have her in primer and the doors and trunk and body edged, new floor pans are in and engine is almost complete (need to get linkage togeather for tri-p).I could use some info and a few pics of the front radiator braces and splashpans, hood interior with braces and the insides of the doors where the weatherstrips and seals go.My other laptop crashed and burned so i lost most all my pics .Thanks in advance as she wants this thing out of the garage and i think i can bargain in a new pole barn if its done.
