newbe from Wisconsin

I'm a 73 year old Old's nut.
I'm been a Olds nut since 1958.
I'm hoping to find a few parts for my 71 Delta Royal convertable.
My son has a 1950 98 2dr-a work in progress.
It was mine, but sold it to him a few years back.
Looking forward to trading info with this group.

Welcome Stetzie to CO. Where abouts behind the cheddar curtain are you located? I've got a ton of extra engine parts, just let me know what you need. You should also consider posting in the parts wanted section. A while back I compiled a list of Oldsmobile related websites. You should check some out if your ever board. Some may no longer be current.

Here's my list. Some good, some bad. Do your own research & draw your own conclusions. Surf's up.

Here's my list.
Gee, I do not see our 62 Olds site on your list? I am sure it was not intentional. http://www.freewebs.com/jeandaveyaros

Featuring our 1962 Dynamic 88 Conv, 62 Olds specs and Ransom Eli Olds.

Know right where Columbus is. Have been through there many times, but not since I bought the conv't. Only one I know of in that area is on 16 toward Portage.

Welcome to CO, Stetzie! Love the convertible, and especially have a fondness for your son's '50 98 2 door. Is that a hardtop? A slope back? Someone will clue you in on how to add pictures. We love 'em. My first affair with an Olds's was about '56. I'm 72, and still in pretty good shape, except for the right knee and right shoulder.

50 is a 2dr "fast back, sedan. My Oldsmobile "luv" affair started in '58 with a 4dr 76 model. Didn't take long before the suffering 6 was replaced with a V8 from a '52 Super 88. Then, in a long line of progression, many 88's & 98's came my way. My preference always has been for the 98's. I had a '53 4dr, '69 4dr hardtop, & '74 Regency 2dr coupe. As to which was best, I'd have to say all 3 were great, but I lean to the 74 Regency as my favorite ride.
Got 3 joint replacements myself. 2 hips & 1 knee.
Thanks for your return post.

That little place is in rio you re talkin about maybe.

Never been there.
I used to have a map of all of the salvage/junk yards in wisc. visited most every one lookin for parts or delivering em.
Theres Jacks auto ranch in Watertown that is still a real junk yard (read: doesnt squash anything vintage , deals in OLD cars). Done quite a piece of business with ol' Jack Bender in my days.

Theres one in the Waupun area that is 40s-50s era oriented still too..

My current projects are my '66 Toronado Motor home and a 1918 Detroit Electric.
The later is all but done now..

Believe Rio is right. Never stopped there either.
Know about Jack's, but haven't been there either.
Huge yard at Camp Douglas. Chase auto parts. Been there, but such a large place, got tired walking around. Lots of cars & trucks there. About a mile long and 1/2 mile wide. Got stuff from the teens to present.
Trying to make a couple personal changes to my conv't, but am not looking to restore it. Bought it to drive and have some fun with.
The 50 98 my son has is a slow work in progress. Tried to buy it back from him, but so far, it's no go. Should have kept it. Oh well, live and learn.
Keep in touch, might want to look you up next time I'm in your area.

Lightbulb

sure thing!
Vans in Waupun is that other one down this way that is loaded for bear with old Olds'.
I scrounge up parts that others have tired themselves looking for
(it's been said 'Troyboy could find a deadman a heartbeat').
so I only require that I be told what to look for ... if you or anyone else is looking for something hard to find...

Thanks, I may have heard of this place. Think a friend of mine mentioned it awhile back.
He's a Mopar guy, so we don't talk "Oldsmobile" much.
Thanks for the tip.
I'm making a list of places to visit next spring.
