Smile 1955 Holiday 88 power steering

Hello, I have a 1955 Holiday that someone added power steering from a 55 Olds 98. It was a complete change, column, gearbox, and pump. Recently my pump has started to seep fluid and is leaking. Can I switch this over to a Saginaw pump without much difficulty? In other words past obvious things like plumbing, will a new style pump work with the older gearbox?

Probably could but it is probably easier to overhaul the existing pump. There is not a lot to them.

Your power steering pump is indeed a Saginaw, a older style. They are easy to service and commonly rebuilt by specialists if you want to send it out. If it is only leaking at the pump shaft, you might pick up a seal and replace it yourself. It takes some patience to remove the pulley but it can be done with common tools on the bench. NAPA had the seal last time I needed one, inexpensive. Oldsmobile specialty supplier Fusick now has the seal for $19.50, a deal:

Best of luck.
