Cross Member
Put a 403 with a TH400 into a 1977 Siverado, The crossmember for the tranny will work with a bit of shuffling, the question I have is, the crossmember is the type that has a Y looking ends, the top section of the Y is bolted downwards from the frame, I am going to have to move the xmember back to accomodate for the TH400 which isnt a big deal but do I really need to use the Y looking ends or can I just bolt it straight to the frame??
Thanks

You might try making a plate to make it work. If its within a few inchs like 4 or 5 should work by cutting a plate that bolts to the trans. Than relocates the mount where bolts to the cross member normally. You can use a 1/8 inch metal plate cut it to size drill 4 holes in it use the mount for the right spacing between the holes. I would check in the engine forum I have read where a few guys on the sight have done the same swap. They might have better advise for you.
If the mounting works out fine for the drive line angle the yes just bolt the crossmember to the frame. Use grade 8 bolts. You can build spacers for transmission mount at the transmission if you need to raise the angle
