1970 Cutlass 350
1970 Cutlass 350
Hi All,
I’ve been referencing this site daily for months and it’s been incredibly helpful. So, I thought I’d make a post and introduce myself.
Backstory: In early 2020, my GF (now wife) lived in a condo complex and When I’d stay with her, I’d walk her dog in the morning around the complex. I spotted a classic cutlass in a corner of the lot under covered parking but the car was covered in dust so I couldn’t see inside or anything.
fast forward a few months, the owner agreed to sell it to me and now I own this beautiful car!
it had been in his family since 1970 and hardly driven. It’s got 28k miles and the interior is perfect - looks like it came off the showroom floor.
exterior has some rust in spots but overall looks great in its original/factory, aspen green paint job.
He made a few minor mods over the years: (Cragar chrome wheels, air shocks), but this car was largely untouched.
since I brought it home, I had the brakes checked out (all drum), new wheel cylinders and a new master. I had them install a dual exhaust coming off the stock manifold (I’ve had poor experiences with headers in the past). I changed the oil, filters and plugs, new battery, modified the seat brackets, cleaned her up and replaced the exterior mirror.
I drive it daily and trying to move some fuel through this thing! It drives so well.
Up next: I’m going to replace the high pressure line coming off the power steering pump, I’m going to have a shop dig into the carb (2brl) and clean the gunk out. I’ll probably also ask them to adjust timing if needed.
anyway, glad to meet everyone and I’m just excited to be here!
