I'm Greg. I aqcuired a 1975 Olds Delta 88 Royale Convertible with a 350 4BC last week. Ever since I was a kid, I've always wanted a full size convertible. Now that I'm a 38 year old kid, I made it a reality. She's red with a white top and burgundy interior. Mechanically she runs well. I just got the leaking exhasut manifold gaskets replaced. The top and back windshield needs to be replaced. I just replaced the rusted out rear bumper. The seats need to be reupolstered. And because I'm obsessive compulsive, I want everything to be functional, right down to the electric clock. Hopefully, by the time I get back from Iraq, I will have enough money to redo the interior and get the door dings out of the exterior.

Welcome to CO Greg. First, thanks for serving our country. Second, those bumpers seemed to be a weak item for the B bodies in the seventies, I had a '78 Delta 88 that had a rotten rear bumper, the dis-similar metal corrosion between the steel bolts and the Aluminum bumper itself wreaked havoc. I think the hitch mounted by the previous owner didn't help either, the extra weight on the bumper just caused it to rot away.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Since I acquired the car, I've discovered some more things that need to be fixed. The door jamb bolts had to be replaced. The doors open and close like it should now since I replaced it. The rear quarter window roller I replaced. The replacement roller didn't come with intructions, but I eventually figured it out. Then after that mishap backing out of the garage, I found a replacement passenger fender. I could've just had the dent pulled out and repaired, but it cost almost the same to have it restored than just to replace it. The radiator has a leak, I got new plastic aluminum replacement. I just have to wait till the car comes back from the convertible specialists. Next in line is to get the AC blower going, and all the weather stripping replaced. I knew getting in to this was going to be a money pit. But it is very satisfying restoring a car into it's original functional condition.
