Good Morning, like the title says I'm not technically new per my profile but I'm now active on the forum. I've been in the background for awhile and now have the time to put towards the 442 and wanted to introduce myself.

The 442 pictured above is actually my first car. I was fortunate enough to pick it up when I was 14 going on 15. Some how I convinced my Dad that it was a good idea and it wound up keeping me out of trouble, which I couldn't be more thankful for. The car is a 1970 442 Sports Coupe, bench seat, automatic car with AC. I drove it all through Highschool and parked it in the winter months. Going on 22 years, its never let me down once even being all original it's become "old reliable".

The plan is to remove what rust is beginning to show begin building another 455 to swap in and save the original engine and get it in top shape so my family can enjoy it as much as I have.

I'm really excited to get going on this and dig into the wealth of knowledge on here!!!

Welcome back. I have a similar story in terms of reliability and years. Hope you get to complete your plan. Happy motoring.

Nice story and great looking car! My first car was a '69 442 convertible I picked up when I was 15. Kept it for 4 years...wish I still had it.

Welcome to the group!
Great looking car as well. I ALWAYS feel like my ‘70 is the most reliable car I own.
Just a personal connection I have with it. Even as a near-race car it’s still a car I know that I can drive anywhere if I wanted to badly enough.
Glad you said hi and look forward to seeing more of your car.
