Hello all,

I am new to the forum and will hopefully be returning my 1962 Oldsmobile to the road.

Looks like its in nice shape and has been well taken care of. Is it a three on the tree or and automatic.

From your photo, the car looks roadable right now. What's preventing you from going for a spin?

It's got the roto-hydramatic, been pretty reliable.

Right now, I am having trouble with the drive shaft. I brought it to my driveshaft guy, and we are having trouble finding parts for the goofy slip yoke CV joint. He told me we could fabricate an alternative using my shaft, but it will cost $500. Im hoping someone has some better ideas.

Welcome. After the rash of 1969 owners joining it seems like there's now a rash of 61-63 owners.

Post your request in the parts wanted section. With luck you'll get a hit on the parts you are looking for. Also post your location State & City

My best friend in highschool had a 62 and I have some fond memories of that car that I will not go into

Welcome. Also, place a "WANTED" ad on www.442.com . It's free. I bet you'll get contacted within a reasonable amount of time by someone with what you need.

Thanks for all the tips. I posted a want ad on 442.com. When I get a few more posts, I will be on the main forum.

And joe_padavano, I have a Caprice wagon with the 307 too. Mine is an '87. 220,000 miles and runs great.
