Newbie from Central TX

Howdy! Just came across the site recently and decided to join up.

Not a current Olds owner, but finally actively looking for a car similar to what my dad bought new, '72 Cutlass Supreme hardtop. Car is long gone but never really forgot about it. Finally getting the bug.

Looks like a wealth of information on here to go through. Looking forward to expanding my knowledge on these cars and hopefully finding the right one.

Beautiful car. Unfortunately I’m only in the market for a ‘72 supreme right now. Appreciate it though!

1972 Cutlass Supremes are gorgeous. Best of luck on your search for the right one.

Appreciate it, sir! Agree with you on those cars. Trying to find one as close as the one Dad bought new back in '72 and surprise him for his 70th birthday.

I have until August of next year, so hopefully something will pop up in the next few months.

Welcome.
So what are the specs on the "one" Dad bought? Exterior/interior colors, engine size, transmission type, options, and any great memories you have of it?
I do know where a yellow with white interior and top 72 Supreme convertible sits in a nearly enclosed covered carport here in Dallas, untouched since the early 80s. The owners son wrecked the front end in an accident. As usual they say its not for sale but I keep asking, you never know. I helped my friend paint his Dads house last October, just down the street and bothered that guy about the car every time I saw him outside. I thought showing him my top down 67 Cutlass might help him let it go to a new home .Nope. I did ask and he has never worked on his own cars before so I truly doubt he will ever get around to fixing it. I even offered to fix it and getting it driving for him a step at a time so it would be somewhat affordable. Not interested in that either. Again, welcome this is the best Olds site left on the internet.

Hey Texxas —

Thanks for the lead. Actually just looking for a supreme hardtop. As close as what he had:

’72 Supreme hardtop ‘Broque Gold’ with saddle interior
350/4bbl/automatic
power steering/brakes (front disk)
Factory a/c
bench seat with fold-down armrest - not opposed to buckets though
magnum 500’s

Special consideration obviously to the gold/saddle color combos.

Obviously I'm a little swayable on a few things, but the Supreme hardtop is a must.

Really looking for a decent driver that needs some work. Stock/unmodified preferred. Nothing that needs a total restoration to enjoy and not a totally redone car.

thanks!
Kent
