Newbie from WI

Hello. Just created an account. Not currently an Oldsmobile owner, but am working on my wife to let me buy one soon. I hope to get a '72 Cutlass Supreme, though I love the Rocket 88 from the early 50s and have a soft spot for the mid-80s G-Body. My parents used to own a '72 Cutlass S and my brother's second car was an '84 Cutlass Supreme.

Thanks for reading. I'm looking forward to learning from folks in this forum.

Welcome to the site, good luck in your quest. Look at the classifieds on this site and oldsmobilecentral.com among others.

Thanks. I have seen those listings on CL. I'll check them out when the time is right. Just not ready to pull the trigger yet.

Thanks! Do you show your car at any local shows? I see the Olds Club of WI has some Olds-only shows coming up this summer.

Yes, I have been known to take our car to a show or two. I try to make the OCA-WI events, as I am a member.

We cordially extend to you an invite to come on out to one to see/meet/talk Oldsmobile!

Welcome. Two suggestions. Buy the best you can afford. Get her in on the decision. Having my wife actually encourage me to buy what I did, over a few objections on my part, went a very long way when dealing with the results.

This is great advice. I am definitely working on her, that's for sure.

I'm going to definitely try to make it to some shows this summer. I'll be sure to introduce myself if I see you and your '62 there.

Welcome to the site. I'm located in Union Grove, right by the drag strip (I also happen to be the race director there). Where are you at?

Thanks Greg. I'm going to try to make the June 3 show in Burlington this year. I'll be sure to introduce myself should I see you there.

Welcome to the site... Your vehicle choices are widely varied and will make for an interesting search... But in any situation you can't go wrong with any Oldsmobile choice...

Thanks. Yeah, I know my choices are different. I wish I could have one of each, but it we'll see what I can afford once I'm ready to buy. At least my varied choices will give me options, right? Let's hope anyway.
