new from michigan

Hi! New to the boards here. From grand rapids MI. This is my 3rd a body olds! Bought a 72 10 years ago that needed way more work than I wanted to deal with. My friend is now restoring it

Bought a super solid 64 cutlass last year, but it was pretty cut up, and more suited to drag car than a cruiser.

Decided it was time to get something I can drive! Friend of a friend acquired this 69 from his father, and wasn't really interested in it. So I got a killer deal on it. Ready to do some cruising!

1969 350/4 bbl 3 spd manual.

Nice score, not to many with three speed. Dash vents look un-usual, is it an a/c car?

Nope. Non-ac car. I thought they looked weird too, but havent done any research yet to see if thats just a NON AC thing, or what else might be going in.

Hi Steve - Welcome! Always glad to see another Michigander join in the fun. Really nice car you got there, I love the 69's. I grew up in Battle Creek, and still have a lot of family in the Battle Creek and Kalamazoo areas. I have lived in St.. Louis since 1983 though. I own a 67 Cutlass Supreme 442 that I actually purchased over in Warren, Michigan near Detroit last October. The guys on this site are wonderful resources to assist with any questions or issues you might have about your car. Enjoy your new toy!

Welcome Steve. I'm over in Muskegon. Those are the correct vents for a non a/c car, the only difference is that the center vent will be open on an a/c car compared to the blocked faux vent that you have. Your '69 looks nice. Next June, when this covid crap is gone (hopefully), you should go the the Oldsmobile Homecoming in Lansing. It is the Saturday of the fathers day weekend. Usually around 500 Oldsmobile's on display, and a swap meet to boot.

Steve, welcome from Rockford, MI. Nice car! I have a couple Oldsmobiles - '56 Super 88 sedan and low mileage '70 Cutlass Supreme. I want to join 1969w3155 in encouraging you to keep the Oldsmobile Homecoming in mind when the RE Olds Chapter of the Oldsmobile Club of America can stage it again. Also, if you get a chance, visit the RE Olds Transportation Museum in Lansing. Lots of of Oldsmobiles and other interesting vehicles on display there.

I didn't realize there were more people on here that are local! I'll be going to the lansing olds show for sure! You might have seen my brother in law around, he has a bright orange 72 with a 442 hood. Lives in the pierson/Howard city area. Been cruising GR with him for years in that car
