Well, it's time to get to work!

My 1951 Super 88 2 Door Sedan is back in my possession, after having been stored at an ex girlfriend's parent's shop for over 15 years. She's here, I'm here, and it's time to give her some love. Here's a couple of shots when she was going on the truck. She's gonna need some love...we start this weekend!

Welcome. I see this is your first post. You are one of the unusual people that post pictures on their first post. We love pictures around here. This old gal looks pretty solid. I see Texas plates. Where are you located? What are the plans for the old gal?

Welcome. That's a beautiful car, and in great shape. Hope you keep it original.

Looks like she doesn't need a repaint, just a good wash and wax.

First modification suggestion: "afterburner" lights in the hood ornament.

Very nice project. From its stance I'm guessing there is no engine in it?? Would be cool with a 371 or 394ci in it, jumbo.

Beautiful car and thanks for sharing. That's a pretty shade of green. I hope you can keep it original as possible.

Thanks for all the well-wishes! The plan is to get her as close to original as possible. There's a little rust, but not bad for a 67 year old. I love the afterburner idea, but I shoot red dot, so that could be dangerous for pedestrians. While the color is original Palm Green, it appears to have been repainted poorly. At close inspection much of the paint has dried mud cracks, so it will take some TLC to get her back into shape. I doubt that I can afford to take her all the way down to the frame, so the plan is to do all the mechanical and aesthetic work so she drives well and looks like new under the hood, inside and out. See you in the poor house!
