Welcome to the new members
Hey everyone, I'm new to the site, I own a 76 olds 88 royale 2 door 455 with K heads and 22's, and a caprice but its got a 307 olds in it. I'm liking the cars i see on this site so far. Im wondering how to hook up a coolant temp gauge on either cars lol. Can someone give me a hand?
Mike,
The water jacket in the front of the intake manifold has a bung on the driver's side just to the right of the thermostat housing. There is probably an idiot light sender in it now. Buy your preferred temperature gauge kit and install the sender in place of that idiot light sender. Remember, let the engine cool first and drain some coolant, also don't forget to route the sender wire (probably armored) through the firewall first too. Good luck and welcome to our site.

New here
Hi all. I just purchased a 1961 Olds Dynamic 88 yesterday and ready to crruise the beast. It has an issue with the trans and some minor rust in the quarters. It is all original. I look forward to learning more from this site.
Hi everybody I'm glad to be a new member. I was told to try here because I love olds. I just bought my second g-body cutlass. My first one turned out to be WAY to rusty and is now my parts car. I am looking for a dual exhaust cross member so if anybody knows of a good one let me know. Thanks. P.S. I have a 85 cutlass salon with a 87 chevy 350 and a turbo 400 trans.
Big John, good to have you here and hope you have some fun participating. I recall someone mentioning the double hump crossovers for the G bodies just the other day. If you do a search it should come up, the post is fairly new. I want to say Fusick has them but I am probably wrong about that.
Hi everybody!
My name is Vukasin and I come form Novi Sad, Serbia. I have a '52 Olds 98 Rocket Convertible, one of 3544 produced. When I found the car, it was in pretty rough condition, but it was complete and rust free with original #matching engine still in runnin' order. Right now, I am collecting information ( and money ) to restore it.

Speeders and Wolftrax, welcome to the both of you. First to speeders, post your vin as this will give you most all the info you need. Someone will be able to decipher it for you, but it is good to have any original documentation so keep the protect-o-plate! Wolftrax, congratulations I think you are our first new member from your area of the world. We have western European members, North American members, Australian members, New Zealanders, and perhaps some Eastern European members but I think you are the first one. Sad to hear about the 442 in the sea.
Thank you very much! I believe also that I am the first form Eastern Europe ( definitely form Serbia ), which is a big honor!
Oldsmobile was moderate popular car make in ex Yugoslavia during 50's, 60's and early 70's. Most of the Olds that were driven here was bought by government for various purposes but some were imported by ordinary people. Olds was always behind other US car brand like Ford, Chrysler or Chevy, but there are some very interesting examples in Serbia. Beside that 442 that is on the bottom of the sea ( btw, it was a 455 car with W30 option ) there are few rare Oldsmobiles, among them a mine '52 98 Convertible, which once was a part of Novi Sad Mayors motorcade and I am searching for fotographs to document this. Unfortunately, number of Oldsmobiles in Serbia is low and the time took its toll...

Hello All
Hi, I have a '66 Ols Cutass that I bought from this old man 11yrs. ago. He actually thought it was a GTO. The engine that is in it is a 350 Olds engine that I had traced back to a '77 Olds. I posted a picture or her in the Olds Cutlass section.
Nick, I owned a '76 Omega for a while, those are some nice little cars. We have a pretty good representation of that model here and you make it one more!
J, it is kind of strange that some people don't even observe closely enough to read a fender badge or a badge on the glove box door. I'll have to cruise over to the Cutlass forum and take a peek at your ride.
Welcome to the both of you.

Welcome aboard Hollis. It's nice to have another "Gawga" boy on board. Some of these guys don't know what Grits are
Your not going to believe this but I went to school with a girl from Gainesville [The chicken capital of the world] and her dad was a "chicken sexer." [ Had a secret to figure out which were males and which were females when they were first born]

Hollis, welcome to our site. I don't think we have anyone with a '53 represented yet so you will be the first once you find yours.
Halfbreed, your car sounds interesting I would like to see pictures and hear more about it. The 425 and 455 engines are very similar and many people use 10 btc initial with total coming in at 32 degrees on 455s. Since you aren't using any vacuum it may take some tuning to get that much in the mechanical advance only. Norm (88coupe) once commented that there are very few good distributor men left and I totally agree. You may have some trouble finding someone to help you with that one if you want all mechanical.

Halfbreed, post pictures sounds like a nice car. My HEI on the 455 is set at 12 degrees mech and 32 Vaccum, Iagree with Dan without vaccum you may not get what you are looking for with mech only, you may want to try a good speed shop to get your questions answered
