Are you saying the painter sold them off the car while it was being painted? If so, it's his problem, not yours, and if you can prove it, he has a real big problem. Those mouldings are not easy to find and not cheap when you find them, and even then they usually require some restoration.
That's why I always remove everything from the car before it goes in the body shop, and reinstall it myself unless the shop will guarantee in writing the pieces will be cataloged and not "misplaced", and assume risk of replacement cost.
You shouldn't have to play hardball like that, but sometimes you have to.

And '66 442s do not have hood emblems.
Just trying to understand you.

Kurt's spot on about there being no hood emblem.
The side mouldings (option Y68) include side chrome strips & wheel opening mouldings. Is that what you're after? They were an option so I guess available on any model F85 (for $31.60 according to the '66 options & price list which refers to the side mouldings as rocker mouldings).
I've always considered rocker mouldings to be the chrome rust collectors that cover rocker panels. Haven't seen a 66 442 with them.

The Cutlass models had the moldings higher on the side as you said, but as I said, the F85 Deluxe models had exclusive moldings that were down on the rocker panels. And of course the 442 option could be had on the F85 Deluxe Holiday Coupe V8.

i have the 442 f-85 deluxe and the rockers are below the door like the chevelle supersport. the hood emblem i am referring to is the chrome piece that goes across the front of the hood that says oldsmobile. by the way i did find the moldings but this place a lot for them; i will keep looking
