I wonder if that’s the same car I sent to Sweden back in 2002. It sold on eBay to a guy named Goran and was shipped out of the Oakland harbour to Sweden. If it was my car it was complete and almost completely rust free but did need paint and interior. My car was originally silver on the bottom and white on the top with silver interior. I bought it from the son of the original owner back when craigslist was brand new and an “Oldsmobile” search would yield less then ten cars. He said when he was a kid he talked his dad out of buying the two door so he could have his own door in the back to get in and out of. Mine was also a J2 but the seller said his dad swapped it out for a single four barrel in the mid 60’s because he was having problems with the linkage and got tired of adjusting it. One of the ones I wish I could have kept. Either way it’s a awesome car. Congratulations on your purchase.

Welcome aboard, It's been about 40 years sense I had a 57 but the bumper adjustment shouldn't be very difficult or complicated, have you tried adjusting it yourself? As Mentioned above drop on down to the vintage forum where the fifties era guys hang and I'm sure someone there has visited that area of a 57 sooner than I have.... Lost in the fifties ....Tedd
