any tips on replacement of my speedo cable the clip at the back of the gauges is giving me some grief

 

Yeah, you need an additional wrist joint to push that clip towards the speedo to unlock the end of the cable. Just keep at it, you'll get it.

 

Agreed. It's a pain in the rear. Just keep trying as Fun71 said.

 

It helps if an assistant pushes the cable casing toward the speedo head from the firewall, then the clip is pushed toward the head. While the clip is held toward the head the assistant pulls the casing away from the head from under the hood.
