Remove back seat

I have a Olds 88 Touring car and need to get the back seat out. How do you do it? Really appreciate any advice.

You probably pop the bottom of the seat out. It is usually held in place where part of the seat spring "clicks" in place around a hook welded onto the floor pan. Pushing the bottom of the seat back and up will usually get it to come loose. Then you loosen a few bolts and remove the back part of the seat by pushing it up. Not too difficult. Good luck.

Thanks.

Thanks very much for the information about getting the seat out. I need to get to the gas tank and somehow get the gas out before the car is towed away. Hate to see her go. Anyway, thanks again. I really appreciate the information.

IF you want to get the gas out of the tank then why do you need to remove the rear seat? If you are having it towed to the wrecking yard and need to remove the gas then just siphon the gas out of the tank into a plastic gas container for your lawn mower. Either that or run the car until the gas tank is empty (if the car runs).

If is going to the junk yard just take a large metal punch and hammer a punch a hole in the bottom of the tank and drain it into plastic containers. The car is going to get crushed at the yard. Hope that's not the case.
