Smile Quadrajet bowl leaking fix.

I just found out that someone makes a well plug with O rings to fix a leaking quadrajet well plug. Tried everything else, ordered them and am waiting to see if they really work. Got them from Quadrajetparts.com for about $8.00 each.

I have used O-ring plugs for the secondaries, but the primaries are more prone to leaking. Did you get a tap and allen head screws to thread in after you drill them out? Most agree that Marine-Tex Gray is the best epoxy to put on the threads on the plugs. You can get what you need from www.cliffshighperformance.com

Has anyone ever really seen this problem on any 1968-later Qjet? It's pretty well documented on the 66-67 carbs with the pressed-in sheet metal plugs. It's extremely rare with the later spun-in aluminum plugs.
