Project 68
Hi to all. I have just purchased a 68 442 convertible w/factory air. Interior is shot but body is good, it has all of the chrome, door panels etc. it needs work but I have it running and driving.....this is going to be a blast! I have numerous questions as far as finding interior parts, hope someone can help.

Welcome to this site! You will find an abundance of detailed knowledge here so be sure to ask questions. I have a '68 convertible as well that I restored during the period 2004-2007 and the knowledge I gained from this site was/still is invaluable. And post some pictures as well - we all like to see pictures! Some folks have a little difficulty in figuring out how to post pictures but, with a little time, you will figure it out! Again, welcome to the best Olds site there is!

Welcome to CO!
Convert, nice!
I am restoring a 68 442 coupe presently....Canadian built
Can you post a pic of the cowel?
Has the car ever been repainted?
Any history about the car that you could share?
Thanks,

The car has been painted to red. Original color was Saffron. I have no history at all on this car. It is a factory a/c convertible, how many of these were built? So far I have found some rust, (not as much as I thought I would find) in the floor pans, a lot of nut shells and leaves, and wasp nests!! I am searching for interior parts as I would like to get a couple of years driving out of it before I start a frame off. I can hoard parts as I can afford them and then go at it with both barrels blastin'! Any leads on finding to interior heat/sound guard for the floor? Carpet? The wiring for the blower fan has been ripped, would like find another rather than just splicing wires. Oh, let the questions begin!!!
