Cornering lights were never offered on the 1972 Cutlass line. If a vendor is selling a turn signal switch for that car WITH cornering lights, run, don't walk. away.

What "flasher" did you change? If it's the one on the fuse panel, that is NOT the flasher for the turn signals, it is the flasher for the four way hazard lights. The turn signal flasher module is on a pigtail under the dash, to the left of the steering column. It is in the general area of the windshield wiper switch.

so what part number would I need if I don't have tilt steering column and the original shifter on the floor and I change the flasher under the dash still nothing and will the turn signal switch effect my turn signal indicator if the switch is bad ? Because indicator doesnt work either

Before you get all wound up imagining what's wrong, check your hazard light operation. If they work, you just need to replace the defective flasher for signal lamps. Deal with this one step at a time instead of imagining what if situations.

Have you checked the fuse block to see if the fuse has blown?

Make sure you have 12v with the key on at the purple wire to the TS switch before you change it.

If you learn how to use a continuity meter and read the wiring diagram, you can know before purchase and teardown of the column. It is not that hard. Power goes into one wire and comes out 2 wires for the on positions of the switch. Someone here with a diagram can tell you what wires come from the switch leading to the lamps.
But certainly check for power going in first.

Do the parking lights work at the front and back when the light switch is pulled out to the first detent?
When you put the signal light on (right or left) do you get a solid green indicator on the dash?

Your looking for 12v at the turn signal switch purple wire. There is only one purple wire hooked to the switch that comes from the signal stat. If you have voltage there then it is a problem with the switch.

It never hurts to put your location in your signature. Maybe somebody here lives near you that can help.

Seriously???
If you don't know how to pull the light switch out to test the front/ rear running lights and side lights, how will you manage to test voltage from.the column? Maybe you should take this to a shop or have a friend who knows what we're saying do the tests.
